Ok, this is a better picture. I believe this is a type of pink, or dianthus. It is a large and varied family, so I am going on the bud and leaf more than the flower, but the flower is within the range, too. Right number of petals.

Also, I don't think that's it, either. It does SORT of, but... dianthus is sweet william's family, right? and these don't look much like those. Much taller, bigger and wider leaves. Darn it, I'm bringing you an entire plant next time I come home. Which incidently is probably weekend after next. Maybe.

This time I'm sticking with my call. Like I said, it's a very large and varied family: pinks, dianthus, carnations, sweet william. Google images of pinks and you'll see how varied it is. Oh, and that some of them are white...
