A Rainy Week

It's lovely outside, but inside it's... MOLDY.
So a few months ago they were working on the roof, and I knew this because the workers swept all their trash over the side onto my plants on the patio, and also thumped so hard I came home one day to a broken light fixture in the closet.
Turns out they forgot to clean the drain, so the flat roof filled up with water and leaked into my bedroom last week... it gets worse the further from the original leak we get: it was streaming in my window, but it appears to have also made it's way into the walls, and now I'm living in a mold infested toxic waste site. It's AWESOME, thanks for asking.

Great. So has anyone offered to replace your moldy stuff and rent you another apartment while the mold is cleared out of that one?...I didn't think so.
Hey guess what? My landlord decided to not replace the gutters when he redid the roof twenty years ago, so now I live in a mold infested toxic waste dump too! I got a dehumidifier, but it is not helping yet. What really sucks is that I just painted the bedroom and now the new paint is moldy! Arrg!
Hey Kiddo,
Stand your ground with the landlord. make them open the wall (remove the drywall), remove any insulation, remove the carpet , and underlayment board.
Dry things out, spray a disinfectant, allow it to dry then rebuild.
Plus a new mattress, new bedding, etc.
And they pay to have you stay at a hotel or another apt. while they do the work.
That amount of mold doesn't grow in just a couple of weeks. .
Tell them your Father knows a lawyer involved in mold in building lawsuits. ;-)
Dad's a badass!
Thanks, guys! I'm trying to explain to them that it's a bigger problem than some bleach and a fan will fix... bit of an uphill battle. My manager is really nice but, not super competent.
