Last sunset in Hawaii, from the 20th floor of a Waikiki resort hotel... freshly showered in the first hot water since we left Seattle, and listening to a live show downstairs on the pool level.

At The End

It is incredibly windy here at the far north west side of the island. We appear to be too lazy to walk the 4 miles to the actual end, but you dont care, do you? :)

Guys I Think I Found Hawaii

Day Two... the southern part of Oahu. The ocean is so calm that none of the blowholes are working, but we have seen lots of humpback whales out in the water. Also lots of mysterious colorful birds.

As It Should Be

Two hours after landing, we are eating shrimp by the side of the road. Its rained like crazy, but now the sun is out and very warm. Hello, vacation. :)

Got all dressed up and went out last night with Talina, Jason, and Regina to the Can Can for their First Birthday Party. It was super dark in there, so the photos all turned out pretty hazy, but I love Jason's expression in this one (and the fortuitous placement of the mural on the wall behind him).

The house is a disaster, but my plant babies think its an okay time to wake up, anyway. Peas, basil, anise, and heliotrope.

A Rainy Week

It's lovely outside, but inside it's... MOLDY.

So a few months ago they were working on the roof, and I knew this because the workers swept all their trash over the side onto my plants on the patio, and also thumped so hard I came home one day to a broken light fixture in the closet.

Turns out they forgot to clean the drain, so the flat roof filled up with water and leaked into my bedroom last week... it gets worse the further from the original leak we get: it was streaming in my window, but it appears to have also made it's way into the walls, and now I'm living in a mold infested toxic waste site. It's AWESOME, thanks for asking.
