Garden & Cosmos

Finally made it to SAAM for the Indian art exhibit there. Pretty
amazing stuff.

Crimes in Nature

Jess and I hiked 7 miles on Saturday, but it was all along a road,
because of a washout. Along the way we gathered a 20 gallon kitchen
garbage bag full of trash. People are pigs.

Travel Tips

The walls of our Couchsurfing hosts living room are a canvas for their
suffers (they take this stuff seriously!). I liked this one best.

Spring Sunset

The sun is finally far enough north to shine in my eyes when I sit on
the couch in the evening.

Winter Hike: Lime Kiln

Leaving Before My Time
Originally uploaded by Arboreality.
Our friend Jess and I hit the trail at Lime Kiln, just outside of Granite Falls, WA. It was snowy and raining, but the trail was impossibly green and the river was that crazy blue that happens when the snow melts fast. Also, there were pussy willows, and Jess's boot fell apart!

For the whole adventure, go visit Flickr!

Farewell To Choice

Today was the last day of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

My Own Shadow

On the ground still strewn with gravel from the snow, my shadow
contemplates the daffodils blooming. AND I AM NOT WEARING A JACKET.

F&#$ You!

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - Thu, Mar 12, 2009

You know, here's the thing. I think both Cramer and Stewart manage to come out of this thing looking like rational, honest people struggling with a difficult topic, and I think it has probably done the entire country good to watch this debate happen publically. We owe them a real debt of gratitude for their part in this cathartic saga.

Winter

This is what Redmond looked like yesterday. It still looks a lot like
this the next morning, actually.

Babycraft

I finally got around to some sewing projects today... A new wallet for
Tea, some wrist warmers, and a kitty sling for the cats. The cats
LOVE the sling: total success.

May The Best Player Win

Tea got us tickets to a play in town tonight- The Seafarer, at the
Rep. Little too much drunken family bouts for my comfort, but it was
a great set and solid acting. Hurrah for Culture!

Mistaken Marketing

This is, I swear, a professional wedding photographer's promotional post card. T has been getting a lot of them recently (I think she accidentally signed up for something along the way), but this one takes the cake. It begs many questions.

1. WHY would you want to give your photographer permission to use THIS photo as his promo shot?
2. WHY would your photographer have taken this photo?
3. WHY did your photographer KEEP this photo?
4. WHYTHEHELL would anyone think this photo might somehow sell more photos??

I ask you.

Gone Hiking

Tiger Mountain Summit #3
Originally uploaded by Arboreality.
Our friend Jess and I climbed Tiger Mountain, to Summit #3. It was our first hike of the season, and a little cold, but a good feeling to make it to the top and enjoy the view all the way out to the Olympics.
