My Sad Tale Ends Here
Caught one. Woke up this morning to find one dead rodent on the patio outside the door.
I'm sorry, little rat, that your poor nose had to get smooshed in the trap in order that my parsley and spinach might live. Next lifetime, try eating something a little closer to the ground, I don't think those ground dwellers mind as much.

The Great Ramen Challenge
Okay, so the flavor packet was like 70% sugar, and the whole thing smelled disturbingly like Lucky Charms. But I ate it anyway...

The Battle of Who Could Care Less
A note today from my apartment manager, in response to my email on Saturday informing him that the apartment is STILL leaking:
We have now placed an emergency leak repair service call to a local professional vendor. Their typical response time is 24 hours or less. The problem has migrated to the unit below you, so we will get to the bottom of this immediately, no matter the cost.
Thanks (again and again) for your wonderful patience throughout this ordeal. Just think, when we're all done with this, you just might have the most water-tight apartment in Seattle!
OH, how badly I wanted to write back:
...and just think, if you'd taken me seriously four weeks ago, this wouldn't be an expensive emergency!
AND BY THE WAY MY CARPET IS STILL WET!
----------------------------------------------
UPDATE: 4/4/07 AND THEN THERE WERE THREE...
I finally dropped a note on Monday for my neighbors, who share the moldy wall with me. I had told the maintanence guy he should do it but he obviously ignored me, because their response email today said they discovered black mold all over the wall behind their bed.
This is getting ridiculous.

Strangers Do It Better
I had a guest all weekend, an internet stranger named Ranae, all the way from Australia and seeking a host in Seattle for a bit. We went for a hike to explore early blooming PNW flora, and had a great time despite the freezing weather and the damp conditions. Got a free bed? Check out http://www.couchsurfing.com/
